As a small outfit without an ambitious growth agenda, our proposition must be both specific and unique. Armed with professional services expertise and extensive networks across functions, we operate with a dedication to four ideas: passive talent, diverse talent, adaptability to the client, and absolute commitment to the search at hand.
The primary difference in our methodology is to target and introduce the highest quality passive candidates. The best talent in the market is going to be well cared for and absorbed in their current role. These 'unicorns' are the most impactful and the toughest to acquire. We bring them to the table. More on this here.
We see the diversity & inclusion agenda as a critical priority for every client, whether they ask for it or not. A diverse leadership group and senior staff have been shown to result in better ideas, greater innovation, and increased growth to the bottom line. We strive to honor that by making it an integral part of our offering. We will, at all costs, present a diverse shortlist on every search. And we will strive to make it more than representative of the diversity present in that market.
We are dedicated to meeting the highest standards on every search mandate, and we do that by acknowledging the important distinctions between clients we serve. At the outset we will adapt to reflect the brand, ethos, culture of the client when representing them in the market, and just as important we will align ourselves with their preferences on process and communication, all the way through to offer extension and close. This is the backbone of any search.
Our clients have our undivided attention, and we want to ensure our commitment is palpable. To that end, we'll dedicate ourselves entirely to a retained search mandate by narrowing our focus to just a single executive search assignment's research and outreach efforts at any one time. And we'll be available, day night weekend, from research to shortlist to offer to close.
Mikolaj Zadecki is a search professional with a 15 year career in recruitment, with the last ten years dedicated exclusively to the professional services arena. He takes pride in the details, in delivering an exacting and comprehensive search on every occasion. His chief advantages in the market are his functional expertise across a wide variety of advisory offerings, and a strong network of Senior Partners and Practice Leaders to call on for advice and referrals. This network across all of the major consulting firms, be they strategy, technology, business advisory, or litigation, as well as the multitude of mid-sized and boutique firms increasingly operating in many of these areas. He's also proud of his ability to get to anyone for a conversation, as well as a talent for telling the story of the client to those individuals.
Having begun his career with a mid-sized recruitment firm based in Chicago, Mikolaj went on to join a tiny recruiting start-up as head of Financial Services, where he was instrumental in growing the practice from two to twelve employees, and was soon after invited join in the ownership of that firm as a full partner, eventually managing an office of twenty focused on the Financial Services Consulting market. He decamped in 2014 to New York, where he joined a British search firm establishing their U.S. office as the founding employee and 2nd in command. Here he was exposed to a large variety of search mandates across sectors, functions, and geographies, and helped to grow the search business to seven staff. Mikolaj joined the partnership in 2017, and in 2018 took on management of the U.S. business as Managing Partner in New York, responsible for leading and growing a talented team of Search Consultants as well as their London-based Research team.
Mikolaj left the firm at the beginning of 2021 to establish Anchor, where he would be firmly committed to the principles he came to understand as vital to delivering the best search experience for his clients and their candidates.
Mikolaj moves between New York and his new home base of Charleston, South Carolina. His immediate family includes his Great Dane and a strange cat named Gus. In his spare time, he is rebuilding a classic sailboat from the ground up, and spending time at the stables with a horse named Harris. He's interested in humanitarian work and serves on the board of the Blue Atlas Project, a non-profit actively engaged in promoting food security and sustainable agriculture by creating food systems in disaster-stricken areas. He enjoys travel to distant places, and one day plans to take a finished boat and set sail for a trip around the world.
